Gears of War 3 is set eighteen months after the last human city has fallen. On he island of vectes, the gears are living aboard the ravens nest which is a converted aircraft carrier. The war is continuing against the locusts but there is a new enemy.

Description
You play as Marcus Fenix leader of Delta squad. There is a new threat infecting the planet. There are some new locus enemies, the Locust Siege Beast, the Savage Grenadier, the Kantus Knight, the Digger Boomer, and an old favorite Berserkers. Use the new weapons to defeat these enemies.
This can be played 4 player co-op which is a new feature. You can access three new female characters to play co-op. Samantha Byrne, Anya Stroud, and Bernadette Mataki.
Beast mode is five player co-op. Play on live with your friends to wipe out ground walkers.
